Asian markets firm, SGX Nifty crosses 8700

US markets on the strength of signals in the Asian markets are seeing rapid. Japan's Nikkei 222 points, ie with a gain of 1 per cent is trading at 19 620. The SGX Nifty close to 30 points per 8725 is 0.3 per cent.
